Inferno Dante
Alighieri We
will spend the next month reading, studying, discussing, and reflecting
on The Inferno.
While a quick read, the poem is filled with symbolism; so it is
important to take your time with each Canto.
Please trust me and journal while you read, not after.
This will help you make something of what you are reading.
It will also help prepare you for engaging class discussions.
Even though there will be a discussion leader for each Canto,
each student will be responsible for contributing questions and
analytical responses. The schedule below is when a reading assignment is
due. It is very likely that,
when we get started, we may not finish discussing all the Cantos on the
day they are due. Does this
mean the schedule will change? NO! Please
stick to the reading schedule; since some Cantos are longer and/or more
detailed than others, we will catch up.
Discussion
Leaders:
You must be prepared to lead the class on the scheduled date, regardless
of what was finished or not finished during the last meeting.
If you will be absent, it is your responsibility to contact me
and get the discussion information to me or another student.
You may switch Cantos as long as I am aware of the change.
